Monday Mojo for Caregivers – The Power of Saying “NO”
Hello and welcome to Monday Mojo for Caregivers. No is such as small word and yet it says so much. The word NO can hold a lot of power if we know how to use it correctly. Some caregivers feel so bombarded by requests and responsibilities that they forget how to say no. We need to be really honest with ourselves, that way we can be clear about the things we don’t want or need in our life.
The first thing to do is to take inventory of your life. Visualize what you want and what you want to get rid of from your life. Make a list of everything that doesn’t support you, uplift you, and/or things that bring you down.
The second thing to do is to say NO!
Now, you may be thinking, “I can’t do that!” If we don’t make the change now – then when?
Realize that when we make the decision to say no, it requires that we muster up the courage to stick to that idea. It takes a certain willingness to change our old ways to create a better life for ourselves. It requires you to sometimes step out of your comfort zone. But, when we venture outside of our comfort zone we realize all that we’ve been missing.
Rediscover your voice and take back you power. Hold onto the things you really want. You always have a choice – all you have to do is embrace the freedom that comes with simply saying no!
