Monday Mojo for Caregivers – Signs That It’s Time to Change Your Mindset
Hello and welcome to Monday Mojo for Caregivers. It can be difficult to decipher between negative thoughts that come from you and negative thoughts that seem to stem from others behaviors or situations. That’s part of the problem – a negative mindset clouds your judgement! Today we are here to give you the signs that it may be time to change or rethink your mindset.
Are you constantly focusing on what’s wrong in life? Do you sulk over your failures and forget to celebrate your victories?
If you’re the kind of person who is always worrying or focusing on the negative aspects of your life, then it’s time to change your mindset. As a caregiver, there may be some difficulty in your life regarding caregiving, but odds are there are some good things happening as well.
Take time to be thankful for the good things. This is important because it helps to keep the bad stuff from completely contaminating your perspective.
If you’re the type of person who is their own worst enemy, then that’s a sign that some inner work needs to be done. Your failures are not actually failures – they are lessons. When you sulk over failures, it prevents you from learning the lesson behind the experience.
Finally, there’s the caregiver that doesn’t ever want to face the truth. Constantly complaining about reality is not going to change it. Relentless complaining is a refusal to acknowledge and accept the truth in a situation. There are somethings that are out of our control. That’s just the way it is! Work on acceptance. Take action to change the things you can control like your attitude and your outlook on life.
