Finding happiness is the number one feeling we all seek as human beings. It is more important than money, health, or relationships.
Without happiness, it is unlikely that you are even able to enjoy and appreciate those things. Happiness brings us greater health, greater wealth, and more honest and loving relationships. It is our greatest gift.
When we are happy, everyone around us is happy, and we attract positive circumstances into our lives.
The Power of Music
So, how do we hold on to the feelings of bliss for as long as possible? One answer is through music!
Bob Marley once said, “One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” Bob Marley’s lyrics were confirmed by a study which discovered that people that use music the same way others use food or alcohol to relieve stress or emotional pain and to bring about happiness.
Music helps make social interactions happier, which explains why music is an essential part of things like birthday parties, weddings, sporting events and nightclubs.
Aside from helping socially, music can also uplift us personally. When you’re having a rough day, try putting on your favorite song and see if that doesn’t help your mood. I bet your attitude starts to change. That’s because music really does move us inside. And what happens on the inside will show on the outside.
Whether you can connect to certain lyrics or simply enjoy a fun beat, music heals! It can connect you to memories of the past or make you feel like time stands still. Music is a powerful tool in happiness.
My suggestion would be to start your very own music playlist. Download a couple of your favorite “happy” songs and put them on your iPod, cellphone or a CD (you can also make a personally playlist on YouTube). When you’re feeling down or having a bad day, turn on your playlist and let the music take you away. Let the rhythm lift your spirit. Get up and dance and start feeling good again!
