Monday Mojo for Caregivers – Lots of Ways to Organize Your Life Now
Hello and welcome to Monday Mojo for Caregivers. The life of a caregiver can be so hectic. It can feel like we’re spinning through a whirlwind which leaves everything messy and unorganized. Luckily, we’re here today to give you lots of ways to organize your life now!
- Write it down
Stop relying on your memory for important things. Keep lists and/or notes in a little planner or on your cell phone that way you can look back on them anytime.
- Declutter, recycle and donate
The annoying part of organizing your life is sorting through all that stuff! But, let me tell you that it’s worth it. Get rid of old stuff you don’t need. Recycle what you can and donate lightly used items.
- Check the expiration date
Expired canned goods and medicines won’t just taste bad, it’s also bad for your health. Dispose of it immediately to minimize the clutter in your cabinets, and make room for new supplies.
- Create an information center
Use a synchronized calendar app, where every member of your team or family can enter new updates, schedules and tasks that every member can see. Doing this avoids conflicting schedules and keeps everyone informed of each other’s activities and whereabouts. You can also do this using big whiteboards.
This one goes for emails and social media. If you subscribe to a number of newsletters, blogs and other online publications, but haven’t read a single email from them in 3 months, just unsubscribe. For social media, unsubscribe to people and pages that are full of negativity and drama. We don’t need that in our life.
- Download a time management app
Download Trello, or any other task management app on your smartphone so you don’t forget random errands and tasks.
