We hear so much about holiday stress that it can be easy to lose sight of what the holidays really should be: fun, joyful, and a little big magical. So how can we capture the excitement? One way is to think of holiday preparation as fun. Preparation is about more than just planning and scheduling. It’s also about getting our spirits ready, then creating that joy (for ourselves and others) through our actions.

Here’s how to get excited about the upcoming holidays:
Put up a few decorations
You’ll know that Christmas starts getting hyped up around the November mark. That’s a great time to buy some good quality decorations but for a killer price. Get as much as you can while prices are low and start the festive season in style.
Put on some music
Nothing is more festive than a couple holiday jingles. It gets everyone in the mood and definitely adds to the excitement of the holidays. Be careful not to play the same songs over and over again though, or else you will hate them by Christmas. Try some new songs! Also, consider watching some holiday movies! They have holiday movies for all ages!
Do a little early Christmas shopping
You’ll save money and beat the crowds! By doing this, you’ll have enough to time to think about presents carefully. No one likes to rush and by shopping for your loved ones a few months in advance, you will be confident that you’ve bought your family and friends great gifts!
