Hello and welcome to Monday Mojo for Caregivers. Too often, family caregivers scramble to get ready and out the door for work or to handle responsibilities without having an ounce of fun or smiling. You’re almost guaranteed to have a more uplifted and energetic day when you do something fun before you begin your caregiving. It’s important to fill yourself with positive energy first, so that you can then give positive energy to your loved one and the rest of the world. Here are some ideas to help you get started!

  1. Turn up the tunes

Rock out to your favorite songs or playlist. Dance and sing like nobody’s watching.

  1. Stretch or try yoga

Yoga and stretching are great for caregiver because it can be done right at home. Yoga can get you stretched out, balanced and feeling joyous for the day ahead.

  1. Take a stroll with friends

Socializing is a fun way to start your day. Walking the neighborhood with a friend is the perfect combination of getting your body energized for the day and keeping up with friends throughout the caregiving journey.

Other ideas include:

  • Going for a morning swim
  • Watching funny videos on YouTube
  • Meditation
  • Take a soothing bubble bath
