Hello and welcome to Monday Mojo for Caregivers. We all know that one person who can walk into a room and light it up! Somehow, they seem to radiate positive energy. Far too often, family caregivers slowly start to lose their glow and positivity as their loved one’s disease progresses. Today, we are here to help you regain some of that positive energy!

A body, mind, and soul filled with good vibes and positive energy brings about a brighter well-being. It can improve attitudes, conversations, and even creativity. So, here are some ideas on how to bring more positive energy into your life.

  1. Find your smile

What makes you smile or laugh like a little kid? Is it hanging out with your best friend? Going shopping all day? Or visiting your nieces and nephews? Whatever it is, engage in that first.

  1. Do something just for you

When commit to doing something just for yourself, you are telling your soul that you are important. Your soul will respond with feelings of joy and happiness. Embrace those feelings. Know that taking care of your needs is paramount! So, join a club, take up a new hobby or start attending a class of your choice. Whatever it is, do it just for you!

  1. Customize your life

Now, you can’t have everything perfectly customized to your liking but you can be proactive in setting up things that bring joy to you. By that we mean, if you love music, then create a customized playlist with all your favorite songs. Expand on the things that are going right for you already!
