The landing is celebrated as Columbus Day in the United States. This holiday has been celebrated unofficially since the late 18th century, and officially in various areas since the early 20th century.
Actual observance varies in different parts of the United States, ranging from large-scale parades and events to complete non-observance. Columbus Day is always celebrated on the second Monday in October.
As you make your way through this week let’s keep in mind that we, as caregivers, can do anything we put our mind to just like Christopher Columbus’ first landing on the shores of the New World.
Remember, the Alzheimer’s Care Resource Center is here for you and we offer many different resources as well as support groups to help you throughout your care giving journey.
