Monday Mojo for Caregivers – A Guided Meditation for Relaxation

Hello and welcome to Monday Mojo for Caregivers.  Right now I want you find it very comfortable place to be seated.

It’s time to relax! I want you to let all of the worries of the day drift away.

You’re seated comfortably and you’re about to consciously relax all of your muscles. I want you to start with your hands and I want you let your fingers go limp, then your palms, and your wrists. Your forearms and your elbows are completely relaxed now. I want you to feel the tension in your shoulder and back drift away. Relax the muscles in your face Let your eye lids come to a close. The tension should go out of your neck. Your hips and your thighs should feel loose. Your knees, your calves and your feet are going limp.

Every toe is relaxing. You are becoming completely relaxed from your entire body. Breathe slowly and deeply from your diaphragm 10 times. Count to five on each inhale and five on each exhale. Now, in your mind, I want your eyes to be open. Ahead of your there is a door centered in the wall about ten step away from you. You’re going to walk toward that door and with each step the worries and anxieties that you are dealing with in your life will drift further and further away until all you see is the door. Take one slow step towards the door. One. Take another step. Two. Another. Three. As you near the door it begins to glow softly. Four. It is a welcome warm light like soft sunshine. Five. That door is beginning to swing open. Six. Through the door there at light. Seven. Through the door there is warmth. Eight. Through the door there is safety. Nine. You are about to step through the door. Ten. You’re standing, looking through the door at a beautiful beach. Step through the door and shut it softly behind you.

The sun is warm. The sand feels soft under your feet. You can hear waves breaking on the shore. Walk slowly down to the beach, enjoying the gentle breeze and thinking about how lovely it is to be so relaxed and carefree.
