Monday Mojo for Caregivers – 3 Ways to Invite More Joy into Your Life
Hello and welcome to Monday Mojo for Caregivers. First of all, who couldn’t use a little more joy in their life? When we feel joyous, we feel great and usually have a better day. Plus, with all the stresses caregivers faces, there needs to be some time when we can feel at ease and happy about our situation.
With that being said, let’s look at 3 ways to invite more joy into your busy life!
- Call or visit someone you love
We all need a break from time-to-time. Spending a little free time with family or close friends is a great way to find your smile again. Friends and family help bring out the best in you so enjoy the moments spend together. Reminisce about fun times in the past or plan exciting events for the future. Either way, you’re sure to feel much better after being around those that love you.
- Take up a hobby
You know that yoga class you’ve meaning to sign up for but never followed through with, well we encourage to join in! Taking up a hobby does two great things for your spirit: it gives you something to do that you really enjoy and it gives you something exciting to look forward to. Try something you’ve never done before, like an art class, a music lesson, or join a scrapbooking circle. The options are endless.
- Create an affirmation or mantra for yourself
That voice inside your head has a huge impact on who you are and how you feel. That voice can uplift you and increase your confidence or it can work against you making you unhappy. To remain balanced, create a personal mantra. It can be something like, “I am always growing and changing for the better.” Mantras should always be positive and usually start with “I am”. Try it out for yourself!
