What a wonderful quote and how very true… It comes from this months Virtual Book Club selection, “Traveling Light: Releasing the Burdens You Were Never Intended to Bear” by Max Lucado.
Although this book will resonate most with our Christian readers, there are messages and quotes throughout the book that all caregivers will find comforting and applicable.
Let’s start with today’s quote: “…meet today’s problems with today’s strength. Don’t start tackling tomorrow’s problems until tomorrow. You do not have tomorrow’s strength yet. You simply have enough for today”.
As caregivers, we have more strength than we think we do. Each morning when we wake-up, as tired and overwhelmed as we may be, we do have enough strength to get through the day. After all, we are caregivers and what strength we don’t have, we always seem to find….
What we don’t have is a crystal ball. We have no way of knowing what tomorrow’s problems and challenges will be. The best way to lose all of the strength we need just to face this day will be to focus on the things we have no control over.
So today, let’s not worry too much about what tomorrow will bring. Let’s gather our faith and rest assured that when tomorrow does arrive, just as we did today, we will have the strength to get through it.
