Hello and welcome to Monday Mojo for Caregivers. The life of a caregiver can be – at times – a world of stress and anxiety. We need to constantly find new ways to combat our stress so we can be happy and healthy enough to care for our loved ones. Today, we are giving you a few more ideas on how to feel less stressed in less than 10 minutes. While it’s true that we can’t solve all your problems, we can certainly try to make some aspects of your day feel a little brighter.

Here are 5 ways to feel less stressed now!

1. Create Your Own Music Playlist
First, sign up or login to a YouTube account. Search for songs you want to add to your playlist like your favorite songs on the radio or songs that bring back good memories. To add a song to your personalized playlist, click on the button under the artist and title that says “add to”. You can then enter a name for your playlist and start to add more music. Have fun exploring old and new music that brings you joy.

2. Cuddle Up
After a long stressful day, there’s nothing better than a big hug or snuggling up in bed. Make time to cuddle with your partner, children or pet. Being physically close to the ones we love has a powerful effect on our mood and attitude and somehow magically makes us forget why we were stressed out in the first place.

3. Write About Your Feelings
There’s something about getting our feelings out of our body and onto paper that is seriously therapeutic. It’s almost like we’ve taken a weight off and placed it into a journal or diary. Take advantage of this! Seeing our feelings on paper makes them less intimidating.

4. Shower with Eucalyptus
Transform your daily shower into a eucalyptus spa experience. Pick up some eucalyptus leaf from a local florist and hang it from your bathroom’s shower head. The steam from your shower will release the essential oils found within the plant. Its benefits includes stress relief, mental clarity and mood enhancement.

5. Call Someone You Love
When a stressful event happens and you feel like giving up, who’s better to talk to than Mom? Talking about and venting your stress to someone you love makes us feel safe and overall better about the situation. Plus, once they realize how stressed out you are, they’ll be sure to make you feel really loved.
