Monday Mojo for Caregivers- Finding the StrengthSometimes life throws us things that require that we dig very deep for some inner strength. Let me give you a few tips on how you can engage with your own inner strength to get through whatever challenge is put in front of you.

The trick is to set goals of passion, purpose and peace in your life. So when life has thrown something that we, quite frankly, we rather not be dealing with, the first opportunity is to actually move to a place of accepting what is going on. As we move to acceptance we can take back our power and actually have the greatest opportunity of doing something about the situation.

So let’s talk a little bit about ways to take back our power. The absolute first principle is to look after the temple, to look after yourself. When you need to dig deep for inner strength don’t go and do the obvious crazy things like drinking too much alcohol or eating too much junk food or just giving up on exercise. These are the very moments where it’s time for you to really look after your body. Your body will be there for you if you learn how to take proper care of it. So eating great food, getting exercise, getting a great night of sleep and having some fun, these are all good ways to build yourself, to bring up that robustness in you and to take on that challenge.

On the day that you are looking to actually confront a challenge, I really encourage you to take some time out to meditate about twenty minutes. Maybe do some deep breathing exercises. There are plenty of videos on the internet about the magic of deep breathing. It is really an incredible way to feel very strong and centered in your world.

It’s also very useful to attune to the heart or come into your heart’s center. Have a clear idea of what your deepest desired outcome from the situation actually is.

As your going into the challenge, you should keep a very steady heading, an even keel on whatever it is you’re looking to make happen.

Look after your body, have a clear idea of the outcome and then walk with your chin high, breathing in your belly whenever possible, into the situation and navigate to the best of your abilities confidently.
